At McGinnis Woods the Preschool administration advances each child developmentally as they are ready for the next challenge. Eager children make developmental strides by experiencing and doing guided by their caring teachers.
McGinnis Woods' Preschool and daycare classrooms promote curiosity, learning, confidence, and success. Children receive a balance of group activity, center time, free play, and outdoor playtime. Kids receive individual attention, one-on-one interaction, music, and daily curriculum and conversation - including Spanish!
Meet our Preschool Administrators
Tonia Usher is the Director of the Preschool. She has been with McGinnis Woods for over 13 years. Ms. Tonia holds degrees in Early Childhood and Psychology. She enjoys working closely with parents, teachers, and staff to develop child specific, developmentally appropriate curriculum to meet individual learning needs of the children.
She has worked with all age groups as both teacher and administrator, but her favorite age to work with is the 2 year olds, because she can act the silliest with them. She excels in logistics and making sure that everyone is on task and has a fantastic “Can Do” attitude.
Preschool Assistant Director
Jason Santimore, Assistant Director, joined McGinnis Woods in 2017. Before joining the McGinnis Woods staff, was a director at a preschool in Midtown for many years. He has a degree in Speech Communications and also worked as a nuclear reactor operator on a nuclear powered cruiser during his stint in the Navy.
After leaving the Navy, he began working in childcare and has never left. Mr. Jason brings a fun loving spirit to our school. He most enjoys working with the 3 and 4 year olds, as he loves to see their faces light up when they understand new concepts.
Brandi Bounds, Assistant Director
Brandi Bounds, Assistant Director, joined McGinnis Woods in November 2019. Before joining the McGinnis Woods team, she was a director at two local preschools in Alpharetta. She has worked in childcare since 2010 working in many different capacities; including teaching toddlers-preschool aged children, as an assistant director and director positions.
Brandi enjoys working with the children, their parents, and staff to build relationships which lead to a close partnership between home and school. Ms. Brandi recently married the love of her life and enjoys spending time with family and friends while kayaking and spending time outdoors.
