McGinnis Woods School has opted to temporarily move our PreK-8th grade classes to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we are looking forward to continuing our students’ educations using our McGinnis Woods Remote Learning System.
Beginning tomorrow, all Pre-K through 4th grade classes will meet virtually from 8:30am-9:30am. Additional times for classes will expand as needed, once we master this new learning mode. 5th-8th grade students will meet virtually based on schedules sent by their teachers.
These virtual classes allow our teachers and their students to see and hear one another in an engaging video environment. This will be an exciting way to interact, but we recognize it will be a new experience for many of our students. We recommend reminding your child that, just like in the classroom, it’s important to exercise good online manners by paying attention to the teacher and talking only when called upon. Also, if possible, try to have your child join their online class in a quiet environment free from distraction.
Your child’s teacher will be communicating with you via email and/or the McGinnis Woods app. Please check these sources frequently for online class links, assignments and other important information. We have also sent all McGinnis Woods families a guide that explains how to access the virtual classroom environment. We recommend that you download and print this guide for easy reference.
