On February 7th, 2019 our school Spelling Bee winners competed in the GISA Middle School Spelling Bee at our very own school. This was the second year McGinnis Woods hosted Round 1 of the GISA Spelling Bee. Our school champion, Julie Kershaw and runner-up, Marian Freeman competed against students from over 15 other private schools.
Students had the rigorous tasks of writing 50 Spelling words correctly plus answering 50 vocabulary questions on paper. Both girls did a fantastic job during Round 1. Marian will go on to represent our school at Rounds 2 & 3 on February 26th at Atlanta Academy.
Our entire school body is extremely proud of both Julie and Marian. Their hard work and dedication demonstrates what our school motto is all about.
