September has been a busy and joy-filled month at McGinnis Woods! Our students have explored science and nature, celebrated special events, and shown their school spirit through hands-on learning and community fun. Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments.
Hands-On Learning Across the Grades
Our classrooms have been full of discovery!
4th Graders enjoyed an incredible field trip to the Lake Lanier Aquatic Study Program, where they tested water with handmade filters, studied plankton, and learned about water visibility and ecosystems.
2nd Graders had a creative day at the Art Barn, combining art and agriculture while enjoying time outdoors.
Second Grade Science also took students into the world of shadows and light as they measured and observed how the sun’s position changes throughout the day.
Celebrating Our Citizens and Teacher of the Month
We were thrilled to honor our September Citizens of the Month and Teacher of the Month, Ms. Leah! These Wildcats consistently demonstrate kindness, leadership, and a love of learning. Congratulations to all!
A Fantastic Scene on the Green
Families gathered for an evening of food, fun, and community at Scene on the Green! From delicious bites at The Taco Man food truck to bingo, popcorn, candy, and a showing of Turbo, the night was a great success. Thank you to our Parent Association for organizing this wonderful event!
International Day Celebration
One of our most anticipated events each year, International Day, brought our community together to celebrate cultures from around the world. Students showcased what they learned through songs, dances, poetry, and posters representing different countries. It was a beautiful reminder of the diversity and unity that make McGinnis Woods so special.
✨ Thank you to our amazing teachers, staff, parents, and students for making September such a memorable month! We can’t wait to see what October brings at McGinnis Woods Country Day School.
