We are so glad to have moved my son to McGinnis Woods! We recently took my 5th grade son out of public school so that he could be in a school with smaller class size and more individualized attention. He struggled in 4th grade in public school and is thriving in the McGinnis Woods small nurturing environment. He never liked school, never wanted to read or study. He has become a totally different kid this year. He LOVES his teachers, is loving reading, and loving to learn. As a parent I love that he is doing more hands-on learning like experiments in science, a field trip every month with an educational experience. I also love that he can go for extra help when he needs it before school. He also has a study hall where he can work on homework and ask the teacher questions if he doesn't understand something. He is also learning organizational skills and being accountable for missing assignments/homework. I never felt he learned these skills in public school. He wouldn't do homework and it wouldn't matter, he never came home with the right books to do his homework and hardly ever wrote down what he needed to do for homework. Now, he comes home, opens his binder, looks at what he needs to do each night for homework and gets it done. I have to sign his agenda each night and he has to remember to get me to sign it. His confidence has grown over the last few months which is all as parents we can hope for. Also, we love the teachers and staff as they always greet us with a smile and a warm hello. Again I will say, we are so glad to have my son at McGinnis Woods!

Our experience at McGinnis Woods has been nothing short of amazing. From the infant classes to Pre-K, we have had incredible teachers and support staff caring for and educating our son. It is obvious through his love for school and remarkable skill-level that these dedicated individuals genuinely and deeply care for the children. I am astounded by my son’s abilities every single day and I credit McGinnis Woods for his advanced development. There is no question that we will be enrolled at McGinnis Woods all the way through eighth grade.
The entire team at McGinnis Woods has literally become an extension of our family. They are kind, caring and compassionate and have earned my deepest respect and gratitude. Determining where to send your children for school, preschool or daycare is a tough decision, full of emotion and anxiety. It is hard to find what the "right" place is and to feel assured that your child will be safe, loved and learning.
Our search was long, but when we found McGinnis Woods we know that we hit the jackpot!
The daycare/preschool is such a nurturing environment! The teachers love the children and the children surprise us daily with little tidbits of knowledge that they have learned. When your child is so at home that they want to stay for 5 more minutes at night...you know you found the right place!
This feeling moves with you at McGinnis. From that at home feeling in the preschool, the elementary and middle share that same vibe. My children are challenged daily by teachers that are an inspiration. The commitment of the staff is incredible! They invest in my children and their energy shows in the daily recap, projects and work that comes home.
I could not be more pleased with our decision. McGinnis is our home away from home. My children are happy, loved, inspired, challenged and free to be the best version of themselves they can be...and my heart is full!
